Weekend Transportation
The Mary Wade Home offers free transportation to folks who live in the
Greater New Haven Community and who are sixty years of age and
older, to and from destinations of
their choice.
Community residents often visit relatives, attend
church, go grocery shopping or attend a social gathering they would
otherwise not be able to attend. Rides may be scheduled on Saturdays
and Sundays by calling the Mary Wade Home.
This unique program is funded from the Agency on Aging of South
Central Connecticut. Voluntary donations are welcome.
Call 562-7222 to schedule a ride.
"The Program is very 'labor-intensive' e.g. picking up clients at different locations and bringing them to different places and for several clients, taking the time to use the motorized wheel chair lift to get them safely aboard. AASCC representatives were very impressed with the client-centered service delivery and the 'consumer friendly' attitude of the driver. The overall rating was 'Excellent."
