New Haven, CT – The Connecticut Association of Not-for-Profit Providers for the Aging (CANPFA) recently presented Teresa Wells, Administrator of the Mary Wade Home, with the 2008 Humanitarian Award during CANPFA’s recent annual meeting.

The Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual whose personal integrity, decency, and contributions to the elderly best exemplify the ideals of CANPFA’s member organizations and their missions who serves as a constant inspiration to all.

“I would like to congratulate Teresa Wells and the Mary Wade Home for this wonderful accomplishment,” said Michelle M. Pandolfi, MSW, Vice President, CANPFA.

CANPFA promotes a vision of the world in which every community offers an integrated and coordinated continuum of high quality, affordable health care, housing and community based services. CANPFA members are all mission-driven, not-for-profits. Not-for-profits focus on caring and provider services for their residents and clients. They reinvest their income into their facilities, resident programs and staff development. They are rooted in their communities. Their trustees and board members are respected members of the community and usually donate their time and expertise to the organizations. Not-for-profit providers also have active volunteer programs, drawing heavily from the local community.
